Questions? Here are the answers.

What is an ETF?
Through the Investments section of the app, you can buy and sell units or shares of ETFs. An ETF (Exchange-Traded Fund) is a fund that itself invests in a basket of financial instruments, such as hundreds of shares.
How do I place a Vanguard ETF purchase order?
You can use the balance in your Available Balance in the app or the IBAN associated with your account.* Select the desired portfolio and enter the amount: the minimum amount is €1 and the transaction is executed as a market order, at the best available price when it is processed. You can also set up a recurring purchase order. * Instant top-up from an IBAN is a feature reserved for a limited number of users.
What are the costs of investing in Vanguard ETFs?
Purchase fees are waived for all recurring Vanguard ETF purchase orders. For non-recurring orders, a fixed fee of €0.89 per transaction applies, for both purchases and sales. Other costs (such as the ETF's TER) and taxes may apply. Before each investment, you can consult the Ex-ante Costs Document in the app. It is also sent to you by email for every completed order.
How are taxes handled when I invest in ETFs?
Unlike Satispay Funds and the Invested Money Box, any gains from ETFs are subject to taxation, and it is your responsibility to declare your income and pay taxes in accordance with the applicable legislation. Only the Financial Transaction Tax (FTT) is applied at source. Each year, you can find a detailed tax report in the app (profile picture > Documents).
What are fractional ETFs?
They are portions of whole shares or whole ETF units or shares: they allow you to invest even a small amount in securities with a high unit price, starting from €1. There are some differences compared with a whole share: 1. in the case of a fractional share or unit, you do not have voting rights at a shareholders' meeting unless you own at least 1 whole share or unit; 2. fractions cannot be sold to other investors on the market. You can resell them only to our partner Upvest, which buys them back in the app; 3. fractions cannot be transferred to another platform. To close the position, you must sell them in the app at the market price.
Are my investments safe?
The assets in your securities account opened through the Satispay app (via our partner Upvest) are generally sub-deposited by Upvest in an "omnibus" securities account (that is, an account opened in Upvest's name and on behalf of all its clients) at a bank. This is a segregated account separate from the assets of Upvest and the depositary bank, which therefore keeps clients' assets safe from potential creditors of both Upvest and the depositary bank.
