Some questions about how the Invested Money Box works

What exactly is the Invested Money Box?
It is a new Money Box in the Satispay app² that lets you invest your savings in a money market fund managed by Amundi Asset Management. In general, a money market fund pools capital to invest in low-risk, highly liquid, short-term financial assets. These include short-term government securities, bank deposits and bonds issued by companies with high credit ratings. Simple and intuitive, it is perfect even if you have no investment experience!
How much do I need to invest to get started?
There is no minimum amount. No activation fee, no limits, no restrictions—maximum flexibility!
Is the money I invest through the Invested Money Box safe?
With the Invested Money Box, you invest in a money market fund with a low risk profile, designed to remain stable over time. This means that the potential losses on your investment carry a very low risk, even under adverse capital market conditions. In addition, the assets in which the fund invests—such as government securities or bonds—are held by a third party, the fund’s depositary bank, and always remain separate from the assets of both the fund manager and Satispay. Therefore, even in the unlikely event that the fund manager or Satispay experienced solvency problems, the assets in which the fund invests would be protected from the creditors of the fund manager or Satispay.
Can I withdraw my savings from the Invested Money Box at any time?
Absolutely. You can deposit or withdraw your money whenever you want, with no restrictions. The amount withdrawn will be immediately visible in your available Balance. Investing through the Invested Money Box is intended for short-term investments, and the recommended holding period is at least one month.
How are taxes on my investments managed?
We take care of everything! Taxes are automatically calculated and withheld from the returns generated by your investment, so you do not have to worry about a thing. They are calculated and paid automatically when you decide to withdraw your money from the Invested Money Box. The estimated annualized return shown in the app is net of applicable fees and gross of taxes. Remember that taxation depends on your personal circumstances and may change in the future.
What are the costs of the Invested Money Box?
There are no fixed costs whenever you invest or withdraw your savings! The estimated annualized return is net of fees, which amount to 0.18% in management fees and an estimated 0.03% in fund transaction costs. For more information, see the dedicated pricing page.
What is “compound interest,” and why should I care?
Compound interest is a method of calculating interest in which the interest earned on the initial capital is reinvested, becoming part of the capital on which future interest is calculated. In other words, you earn interest not only on your initial capital, but also on the interest accumulated in previous periods. In relation to your investment, the money market fund does not distribute its proceeds—interest or returns—to investors, but automatically reinvests them in the fund. This continuous reinvestment creates a compound-interest effect: the gains remain in the fund and generate further gains, supporting the progressive growth of the invested capital over time.
How much does the Invested Money Box return, and why is it worth keeping money invested over time?
The estimated annualized return can currently reach up to 2.61%¹. Satispay and fund fees have already been deducted from this return, although taxes still apply. The fund’s performance is linked to the benchmark interest rates set by the European Central Bank. This means that any increase in interest rates would lead to a higher annualized return, while a decrease would lead to a lower annualized return. Your investment benefits from the compound-interest mechanism, making it worthwhile to keep your money invested over time.
What is stamp duty, and how is it managed for the Invested Money Box?
Stamp duty is a tax required by current legislation that applies to financial products, including investments made through Satispay. It is currently equal to 0.20% per year and is calculated on the value of your investment. The exact amount you pay depends on how long you keep the investment active during the year, thanks to a proportional, or pro-rata, calculation made at the end of each calendar year. The good news is that you do not need to worry about calculations or payments: we take care of everything! The amount due is automatically deducted from your Satispay available Balance once a year. Just make sure you have sufficient funds in your available Balance at that time.

¹ This is a promotional communication. With the Invested Money Box, you can invest in a money market fund which presents a very low risk. However, capital is not guaranteed and is subject to the risk of loss. The return is variable and is influenced by market conditions, including interest rate and credit risks. The annualized return is an estimate that refers to the weighted average yield of the securities in which the money market fund invests, net of fund costs. The scenarios presented are an estimate of future returns based on evidence related to past changes in the value of this investment and/or based on current market conditions and are not an exact indicator. The repayment amounts will vary depending on market performance and the period of time for which the investment is maintained. Returns are subject to taxation, which depends on the personal situation of each investor and may change in the future. Consult the fund documentation before investing.
