Some questions about Satispay's security and privacy

With an entire specialised team, a level of security above the banking standard and a state-of-the-art encryption system.

Satispay is safe because:

  • it asks you to associate the IBAN and not the credit/debit cards, which can be used by anyone to make payments;
  • to access the App, in addition to unlocking your smartphone, you must enter your pin code;
  • there are no intermediaries unlike card payments, where information is shared with different parties.

🔏 RESPECT FOR PRIVACY

Satispay respects your privacy and does not know the balance of your bank account movements. In fact, your bank only communicates to Satispay the actual availability of the amount required to top up your Budget.

đź’¶ PAYMENT TRACEABILITY

As with all electronic payments, transactions made with your Satispay account are also recorded in accordance with current legislation.

We keep them in compliance with current legislation and our security measures. For more information, read our Privacy Policy.

Satispay Europe, as an authorised electronic money institution, does not lend its users' money to other persons or businesses.

Under applicable European regulations, we are required to protect your funds and must keep them separate from our assets. This is why your money is separate from the funds we use for our day-to-day business operations and cannot be attacked by Satispay's creditors in the event of insolvency.

Currently, we have deposited the money received from your bank account:

  • in segregated accounts at Italian and Luxembourgish banking institutions;
  • in low-risk liquid assets (specifically, a money market fund) with Goldman Sachs.

As a financial intermediary, we are required to comply with laws and regulations governing this type of service. To do this, in certain cases, we may request additional documents or information from our users, in addition to those provided during registration.

Some of the information we are required to verify relates to, for example, the ownership of your bank account, your identity, or the origin of your funds. Among the reasons behind this verification is also the need to guarantee our users high standards of service security, ensuring that the transactions made have been arranged by the user to whom the Satispay account is held and protecting our users and their funds from fraud or other illegal activities.

Do not worry if you receive one of these requests or if none of your acquaintances have been asked for the same documentation; these are simple routine checks that we are required to perform in order to provide a safe service and the timing of these checks may vary from account to account. We also assure you that any data provided by users to Satispay will be treated in full compliance with privacy and anti-money laundering regulations.

If you receive a request from us for documents/information and you have any doubts about it, do not hesitate to contact us to express your doubts: our Customer Care will be at your disposal!
